Description
A table which is filled in by each student independantly in two phases. In the beginning of the learning sequence students fill in the knowledge they consider to have about vaccination and their expectations from the lesson, and at the end of the learning sequence they fill in what they believe to have gained or learnt from the lesson and compare them to their expectations (self-reflection).
Notes on pedagogical utilization
The learning object is a digital edition of a KWL (Know, Want to Learn, Learnt) table and aims to the student engagement in the lesson and the self-reflection on that. The table is personalized for each student who enters it with personal passwords. It is completed in two stages: at the beginning of the learning sequence (short version of the table), and at the ending of the learning procedure (expanded version of the table). The student completes what they think they know on the topic (initial conceptions and misconceptions) and what they would like to learn (expectations) in the initial version of the table. This stage aims to the student engangement in the lesson and the linkage of the new concepts to the student's existing ones. Then, they look back on their answers on the final version of the table, and they complete what they think they have learnt and evaluates their learning progress. This stage aims to the comparison of the new conceptions to the old ones and the reflection on the learning procedure. The teacher can utilize the initial answers of all students to modify the lesson content, and their final answers to evaluate the lesson outcomes. Student answers must express their personal viewpoints and must not be criticized or graded. The table can, also, be completed in pairs. It is about vaccine education, but it can be used in every topic.

The teacher must first have made an account in the platform https://mathspace.gr/pafse/ with their email. Then, they have to input their class in the platform and all their students, in order to have students' login credential issued (Class code, username, password). If they want to have the expanded version of the table appeared (end of the learning sequence), the 'lock and extend' button must be checked, otherwise the short version of the table will appear. Students must press the 'Save' button to submit their answers. The teacher has instant access to all the students' answers via the https://mathspace.gr/pafse/ platform.
